Welcome!

Dear authors,

The Editorial Board of the journal “Trudy Instituta Matematiki i Mekhaniki UrO RAN” welcomes you at this site!

In 2017 the journal celebrates its 25th anniversary. We have been publishing original papers of theoretical nature in modern areas of mathematics and mechanics since 1992. Until 2007, the journal was published as a collection of papers of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Ural Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences (Yekaterinburg). In 1992–2007, the Editor-in-Chief of the “Trudy IMM UrO RAN” was Academician Yu. S. Osipov, and in 2007 he was succeeded by Academician V. I Berdyshev. In 2007 we received a mass media registration certificate and the journal was included in the “List of Leading Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journals and Periodicals” established by the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) of Russia; this status was confirmed in 2015.

The first issue of the “Trudy IMM UrO RAN” featured papers by the first director of the institute S. B. Stechkin; Academicians A. B. Kurzhanski, I. I. Eremin, A. I. Subbotin, and A. I. Sidorov; and Corresponding Members of the RAS N. N. Subbotina and V. N. Ushakov. The issue contained papers in various areas of mathematics: algebra, function theory, approximation theory, mathematical theory of optimal control, differential games, mathematical programming, and mathematical methods of continuum mechanics.

In the years that followed, there were many famous researchers among our authors: President of the USSR Academy of Sciences Academician G. I. Marchuk; President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Academician Yu. S. Osipov; Rector of Moscow State University Academician V. A. Sadovnichii; Academicians N. N. Krasovskii, F. L. Chernous’ko, and A. V. Kryazhimskii; and the known experts in the theory of splines Carl de Boor (University of Wisconsin) and A. Shadrin (University of Cambridge). In recent years, the journal has published articles by Russian authors as well as by researchers from Armenia, Azerbaijan,  Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, and other countries.

The Editorial Board of “Trudy Instituta Matematiki i Mekhaniki UrO RAN” willingly accepts papers by young authors—postgraduate and doctoral students, placing high demands on the quality of their research.

Generally, all the manuscripts submitted to the journal are subjected to a careful screening. Before deciding on accepting or rejecting an article, the Editorial Board first checks the materials for originality and relevance to the journal scope.
